Book Bug

Did you know that I’m a book loving bug? I have been spending many hours this week..and until the end of the Public School Year reading to kids at Vera Scott Elementary School! This week is their annual Scholastic Book fair!! And I am so delighted to be a part of it.

A Butterfly is Patient by Dianna Hutts Aston

This last week I read a book called “A Butterfly is Patient” by Dianna Hutts Aston. It is available at the book fair this week and one of the more popular books! It is chalked full of butterfly facts and life size illustrations with each insect named.  The images are bright and beautiful, and kept the attention of 1st through 3rd graders!

The bright pages tell the story of the four stages of the butterfly. It walks you through all the virtues of a butterfly, from egg stage to flight, noting preditors, unique features of a butterfly and what sets them apart in the animal kingdom.

If you would like to have me come and read to your class or in your local library, contact me! I’d be delighted! But hurry and sign up, spaces for the end of the school year and this summer schedule are filling up fast!
